The Events Management Coordinator perform a wide variety of administrative, logistical, operational, and technical tasks related to events management for the Cancer Center Director. They work collaboratively within the Executive team to plan, coordinate, market, and implement special events and activities. Their typical duties may include planning and coordinating both large- and small-scale programs/events; scheduling and coordinating meetings; purchasing and arranging travel; overseeing catering; and negotiating financial partnerships and cost-sharing agreements with groups and organizations on and off-campus. They work under general supervision, resolving most standard issues independently and referring complex issues to an upper-level manager.

Typical Duties:

• Plan, coordinate, and execute all events as specified by the Cancer Center Director.

• Work closely with events teams, other departments, and campus partners to create in-person, hybrid, and virtual events.

• Oversee event logistics, including venue selection, catering, transportation, and audiovisual needs.

• Develop event timelines, manage budgets, and ensure all events are delivered on time and within budget.

• Plan, produce, and evaluate events with a solutions-oriented mindset.

• Develop metrics to measure success and drive continuous improvement.

• Partner with internal Executive team to define deliverables, meet deadlines, and measure success.

• Collaborate with campus partners to coordinate participation in events.

• Develop relationships with vendors, venues, and other event service providers and internal partners.

• Provides additional administrative support for other areas within the MCCC Executive team.
