Events Marketing Manager

Come be a part of a rapidly expanding global business. The Financial Services Industry Marketing team within AWS is looking for a dynamic, experienced events manager to lead the events marketing for our proprietary and third party events.
- Sr Event Marketing Manager with 7-10 years events marketing experience, ideally within the Financial Services or Tech industry.
- Exceptional experiential marketing, relationship building, and project management skills
- Thrives in a fast paced environment with the ability to travel up to 40% of the time.
You will own relationships with stakeholders and business partners where you will manage and scale highly curated events that enable our marketing strategies and sales teams. To be successful in this role you will need to be creative and driven to deliver high-quality customer-facing events with frugality. You should be comfortable with experimenting, continually testing, measuring, scaling, and evolving your event programs.
This role will own event strategy globally based out of the US, working closely with the global and regional field marketing teams and business stakeholders.
This role will own event strategy, including program management, logistics, internal/external communications, and event tech and tool integrations (including registration, virtual event, and CRM tools). This role will require strong collaboration and influencing skills as it partners across stakeholder teams and locales to define event strategy, program, and sponsorship needs, and to impact long-term customer experience.
You will define goals and objectives, metrics, post-event wrap ups, reporting, and analysis. To be successful you will need to be comfortable establishing clear processes, set prioritization, write and communicate effectively. The right candidate will be a self-starter and have strong interpersonal, project management, and analytical skills.
This position does not have any direct reports.
Key job responsibilities
• Owning and managing all elements of an event from conception to measurement, including but not limited to: strategy, project management, vendor negotiation and management, production, event registration, data gathering/reporting, evaluations, speaker engagement, cross-functional partnering
• Demonstrated high attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously, creating a sense of urgency in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Able to influence at multiple levels without authority
• Thrives in an ambiguous environment; can independently remove blockers and make decisions autonomously
• Exhibits ability to stay calm under pressure; resilient to set-backs
• Passion for customers and creating a memorable experience
• Moves easily between generating big, creative ideas to driving process improvement, to executing event details and administration
• Analytical; experience identifying and interpreting data to make business recommendations

• Ability to travel domestically & internationally and work across time zones
• Proficient with MS Excel, Word, and PPT
• Demonstrated ability to perform well in a highly dynamic, geographically diverse, and rapidly changing environment

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 6+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
- Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
- Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)
- Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs
- Experience developing and executing campaigns across a multitude of timezones and languages
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience driving direction and alignment with large cross-functional teams and agency partners
- Experience designing and executing joint marketing plans with strategic alliance partners with global footprint

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $106,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
