Summary

Clarification from the agency

This announcement is open to current permanent Federal Civilian Employees, Veterans Employment Opportunities Act (VEOA) eligibles, eligible Priority Placement Program DoD Military Spouses Preference (MSP) applicants, eligible PPP applicants, and current Federal VRA Employees, and Eligible Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan applicants (ICTAP).

Duties

  • Develops plans and strategies for the internal and external integration of day-to-day and long-range projects, actions, and activities involving the Provost and Associate Provosts.
  • Provides advice and recommendations on all matters relative to the coordination, integration, and synchronization of staff actions, events and activities of the Office of Academic Affairs.
  • Responsible for managing the operating schedule of the Provost and Associate Provosts. Develops and maintains the Provost's long-range calendar.
  • Tracks, manages, responds (as appropriate), and ensures Academic Affairs (AA) completion for internal and external suspense's and taskings. Directs the administrative operations of the Office of Academic Affairs.
  • Supervises all aspects of travel for the Office of Academic Affairs to include coordination of complex itineraries; making air/ground transportation arrangements; hotel reservations; and preparation of trip books.

Qualifications

You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service.

Specialized Experience is defined as: experience with developing plans for day-to-day or long-range projects, maintaining operating schedules and long-range calendars, coordinate travel, and provide guidance to other administrative personnel.

Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Substitution of Education for Experience: You MUST provide transcripts to validate substitute of education claim.

For the GS-11 level: Three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed higher-level graduate level education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements.
