Summary

Under direction of the Manager, develops, implements, and coordinates exercise programs and administers medical tests, under Physician's supervision, to program participants to promote physical fitness by performing the following duties. Participants in patient and family teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional practice in the Cardiac Rehabilitation setting. Population served includes adult to geriatric care levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Exercise Science required
• An internship in Cardiology, (i.e. Cardiac Rehab) plus 6 months related experience required.
• CPR and ACLS certified
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to act independently and make decisions under stress as required
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team with medical staff
• Teaching abilities for patient and family education
