4-H Youth Development Extension Program Assistant II

Position is contingent upon funding and satisfactory work performance
The Extension program assistant will work up to 8 hours a week focusing on Hispanic/English as a Second Language programming. Sevier County's Spanish Speaking population continues to grow and the need for assistance in translating Spanish to English and Spanish Programming is greatly desired.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Plans, execute, evaluate, and report 4-H Youth Development educational programs under the direction of the Extension Director.
• Serve as a liaison with Spanish speaking communities and translate educational materials.
• Assumes responsibility for youth clubs, projects, activities, events, and committees.
• Secures and trains volunteer leaders and serves as an educational resource for educational youth programs within the county.
• Provide leadership for a program of activities that meets the needs of eligible clientele regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, religion or veteran status.
• Assume other duties as assigned.
• Be responsible for up to 8 hours of work a week.
Minimum/Required Qualifications (include education, experience, skills & abilities, licenses & certifications):
• Ability to translate Spanish and English written and verbally.
• Successful applicant must have a valid Tennessee driver's license.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, preference will be given to those with a degree related to youth development or agriculture.
• Clear background check will be required
Preferred/Desired Qualifications:
• Experience working with youth in and out of classroom settings preferred
