We have an exciting opportunity for a Fall 2024 - Engineering Intern to join the team with the Engineering Division.

This is a temporary role with a duration of 16 weeks.

If selected, you will:
  • Work in a team environment, and report to the project engineer or project manager for technical support, task assignment, and processes
  • Assist with the design, processing, and testing of VIPER products
  • Plan and execute hardware troubleshooting to investigate mechanical and electrical failures with hardware
  • Generate essential paperwork and documents for tasks assigned, such as Task Performance Sheets (TPS), Discrepancy
  • Reports (DR), and Detailed Test Procedures (DTP), as needed
  • Interact frequently with other JETS teams and departments
  • Perform job functions based on pre-established guidelines or instructions
  • Perform other duties as required


Requisition Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled at an accredited university
  • Completed at least 60 credit hours
  • Minimum of a 2.8 GPA
  • Self-motivated, team player and adaptable to a dynamic environment, and the ability to complete all assignments as required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and will be expected to effectively interact with customers and management at all levels
  • Ability to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetings
  • Must have the ability to visualize and work with complex mechanical/electrical systems and work with others in problem-solving as part of a team
  • Must be able to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and schedules with limited supervision
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products

Requisition Preferences:
  • Must be a student enrolled in an engineering degree or engineering technology program
  • Mechanical, aerospace, or electrical engineering degree-seeking student
  • Familiarity with common hand tools and proficiency in using them to perform assembly, disassembly, and troubleshooting on mechanical and electrical systems
  • Prior experience with hardware anomaly troubleshooting and failure analysis
  • Experience with procedure development selected at any level for which the position is advertised

Essential Functions

Work Environment

Generally, an office environment can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).

Equipment and Machines

Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).

Attendance

Regular attendance following an established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust the schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
