Description

IEEE is the world's largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity. We are currently seeking an Educational Technology intern for our Educational Activities group in Piscataway, New Jersey.

In this part time, hybrid role, the intern will support the educational technology platforms used to offer eLearning courses and virtual events, primarily for continuing education and professional development audiences. The intern will also use AI prompt engineering on various projects as assigned. This internship will provide hands-on opportunities and produce results that will directly support and/or benefit IEEE customers, members and the global engineering community.

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the creation of analytics and usage reports for IEEE eLearning products; identifying actionable insights, key trends and metrics, user behavior, data/marketing/website optimization opportunities, as well as to respond to institutional customer requests
  • Gathering, generating and reviewing catalog records of eLearning courses as per machine readable cataloging (MARC) standards
  • Updating, editing and/or enhancing existing catalog records for greater discoverability
  • Submitting and monitoring project management tickets (JIRA)
  • Using AI prompt engineering to produce reports and support various EA projects and initiatives
  • Coordinating virtual events/webinars, including setting up registration pages, providing production support, collaborating with marketing efforts and producing events
  • Assisting with the learning management system (LMS) and website that supports the IEEE Learning Network, including conducting keyword research to improve SEO, auditing LMS content and URLs to ensure data integrity, and creating/updating customer support documentation
  • Conducting industry research and landscape assessments within the adult learning space

Qualifications

Education & Skills Required:

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program in a field such as educational technology, information science, library science, data analytics or a related field
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Strict attention to detail and consistency
  • Ability to follow through on a documented process or workflow with multiple steps or phases.
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Be a proficient user of Microsoft Office, Google Docs and Sheets
  • Understand the use of AI prompt engineering using tools like Microsoft Copilot or ChatGPT
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Possess the ability to analyze and solve problems creatively
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Familiarity with KBART lists, MARC records and/or Google Analytics 4 is an asset, but not required
