JOB DESCRIPTION:
Position Summary:
This position manages all accounting/finance projects and process improvement initiatives. Projects can be directly related to SAP or other finance systems, can be large initiatives, or part of ongoing continuous improvements. This position partners with IT and all other areas of the business depending on the project and scope. As with all managerial positions within Bendix, this would be a 'working manager' and thus would perform activities as required for accounting support including daily interaction on SAP issues and questions. Responsibilities may include other assignments as needed.

Essential Functions:
  • Manage all FI and some CO SAP and other IT related finance/accounting projects in coordination with other module leaders or business leaders
  • Responsible for managing, directing and planning complex projects consisting of one or more project teams,
  • Responsible for logistical support and planning, resource deployment, control of deliverables including deployment and acceptance, financial management, and documentation.
  • Lead project teams in executing assigned tasks and coordinating the efforts of internal and external project team members including global colleagues.
  • Manage day-to-day needs of finance team with respect to IT request/tickets and authorization activities
  • Initial contact for finance regarding any production issues, technical questions or project idea development
  • Acts as the primary liaison with IT and other areas of the business related to finance projects, process improvements and daily activities
  • Responsible for segregation of duties for FICO as well as the compliance for all areas related to the Truck N.A.
  • Identify areas of improvement and partner with IT to develop and vet solutions
Knowledge:
  • Must possess and demonstrate knowledge of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) financial system, preferably SAP.
  • Solid knowledge of general accounting practices and procedures.
  • Understanding of FICO and how it interacts with other modules of SAP
Experience :
  • 5-7 years of demonstrated experience utilizing SAP. Experience with other ERPs such as Oracle, BAAN, JD Edwards helpful.
  • Extensive knowledge of the FICO module within SAP as well as a working knowledge of all modules is strongly preferred.
  • Full life cycle SAP (or other ERP) implementation project preferred.

  • Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks while meeting aggressive deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Possesses the skills to facilitate continuous process improvements.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Cross-functional time, task, and resource management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and assist in managing conflicts on project teams.
  • Excellent tactical and evolving strategic problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to recognize what type of Project Management tool is required in the given situation and to adapt appropriately.
  • Has displayed leadership with the project management team and is seen as a leader by management and peers.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required with a high preference for fields of study to include Accounting or Finance. Accounting experience required in lieu of Accounting degree.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent preferred
