Corporate Finance Team Our Corporate Finance team plays an integral role regarding Guidewire's current operations, our growth objectives, and the broader operational organization. This team has an important seat at the table with the CEO, CFO, and the Sales leadership team in providing critical information and analysis to make high-quality operating and strategic decisions. The team partners with business leaders to develop business models and operational and strategic plans to align with our priorities. The team receives a lot of exposure with opportunities to influence the long-term direction of the company including how we license and sell our software, consulting, and cloud services.

The Role: As an experienced Financial Analyst, you will have a critical role in the Sales Finance function and will report to the Sr FP&A Manager. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate, reliable forecasts and reporting for Software Revenue and related highly visible, top-line metrics through strong organizational skills, excellent attentiveness to detail, and an innate understanding of data and financial processes. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, has a growth mindset, and wants to accelerate their development. This role will also require an individual who is willing to roll up their sleeves as duty requires, and enjoys collaborating with people in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Main areas of responsibility:
  • Maintain and improve models and data sets that drive worldwide revenue projections, annualized recurring revenue (ARR), bookings, top-line metrics, cashflows, and long-range planning
  • Perform monthly and quarterly close tasks, especially review of bookings, and preparation of ARR and Fully Ramped ARR while focused on SOX controls and documentation
  • Liaise with Sales Operations and Deal Desk to understand the sales pipeline, deal size, timing, and contract terms, and provide insight into deal trends
  • Work with the Revenue Team to understand revenue recognition treatment for cloud migrations, complex sales orders, and contract modifications
  • Assist in preparing data and building financial presentations for management for weekly updates and various company meetings
  • Ad-hoc analysis and projects as-needed to support business needs

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
  • 2-3 years of experience in Corporate Finance/Financial Planning and Analysis role or Public Accounting
  • Knowledge of ASC 606 Software Revenue and experience with top-line metrics
  • Proficiency with Excel and experience with Google Workspace. Knowledge of Salesforce preferred
  • Self-starter with interest in building and improving processes and systems
  • Detail-oriented with strong critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written
