What You'll Do :
  • Under general supervision, analyze accounts, expenditures & financial reports: deter-mines preliminary budget projections for Industrial & Entertainment Fund (I & E) & Patient Fund, posts & maintains complex cash journals & general books of accounts, receipts funds into I & E & Patient Accounting System (PAS), disburses funds to clients & staff, analyzes all invoices for accuracy, prepares vouchers & maintains accurate & complete back-up documentation for all expenditures, maintains pending file & monitors all outstanding funds to insure timely receipt of all cash receipts & unspent funds, replenishes cash fund, maintains accurate balances in the checkbooks & cash journals, coordinates client expenditures with clinical staff, prints daily posting journals & balance re-ports to insure accuracy of fund balances, audits all client withdrawal slips & I & E re-quests for accuracy & proper signatures, receives, analyzes & maintains all Client Needs Assessment forms for quarterly expenditures for clients for which Summit Behavioral Healthcare (SBH) is representative payee, processes invoices for payment (e,g., payment of rent, utilities, food, medical bills..) for clients, posts all financial transactions for Occupational Therapy's (OT) patient incentive store, disburses funds for purchase of merchandise & posts daily transactions to subsidiary journal, uses personal computer to accesses, review & post to PAS, assists supervisor in preparing financial statements & reports, serves as backup in posting & maintaining Commissary Fund.
  • Secures & maintains patient funds: ensure all withdrawal slips & supporting documentation are received from treatment team, assist supervisor with monthly Chief Executive Officer (CEO) billing for representative payee clients, calculate amounts of funds to be retained in clients' funds, disburse remaining funds to Ohio Department of Mental Health (ODMH) for clients' hospital support, monitor & post Certificate of Deposit (CD) interest to I & E Fund, store & maintain accurate financial records in accordance with State of Ohio Record Retention Schedule & ODMH Audit Section
  • Performs a variety of related office tasks to provide support to Fiscal Services Department: attend I & E Committee meetings, disburse petty cash, answer general telephone inquiries, copy & fax information, gathers & compiles information & figures for reports, and complete annual training mandates.
Unusual working conditions: May be exposed to communicable diseases and unpredictable patient behavior.

Qualifications

30 mos. exp. or 30 mos. trg. in accounting &/or finance to include an intermediate level of experience in spreadsheet software.

-Or completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, accounting, finance or related field; 6 mos. exp. or 6 mos. trg. in accounting &/or finance to include an intermediate level of experience in spreadsheet software.

-Or 12 mos. exp. as Financial Associate, 66561.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above. NOTE: Successful completion of the Fiscal Academy may be substituted for 4 mos. of required accounting/fiscal experience referenced in this portion of the minimum qualifications.
