Position Summary:
The School of Medicine is seeking an experienced financial specialist who is looking for an opportunity to support financial and administrative operations in the School's Basic Health Science department(s).

This position will focus on financial analysis and reporting, transaction monitoring, and providing efficient fiscal and operational support in assigned basic health science department(s). Core Responsibilities:
1.) Fiscal & Departmental Operations:
- Ensure that all purchasing and budget transactions adhere to VCU fiscal policy, procedures, and guidelines
- Maintain technical knowledge of university systems used to manage purchasing, corporate card transactions, financial reporting, et
- Serve as travel coordinator for all departmental travelers, including invited guests
- Serve as fixed assets coordinator and perform annual physical inventory of all departmental fixed assets
- Assist with equipment surplus request
- Contribute to the daily fiscal operations as needed, including monthly reconciliation, purchasing, and corporate card processes
- Department website maintenance
- Analyze monthly financial data and develop reporting for faculty and administrator (non-grant funds
- Provide expense data and projections for annual budget process
- Assist with annual departmental space analysis and reporting
- Ensure salary and benefit charges are allocated appropriately and the correct documentation/tracking is maintained for all fund sources
- Review monthly corporate card reports to ensure accurate allocation of expenses
- Participate in annual ARMICS certification process
