Pay

Salaried grade 8

$76,458 to $87,253 / year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Actual salaries may vary and in some cases may be higher with extensive experience and strong performance.

2nd Shift (Sun - Thu, 2:30 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.)

Weekend, holiday, and/or other hours will be required at times

Job Summary

McKee Foods is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to join our Fleet Maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the workforce in line within McKee Foods company mission and goals. Key duties include Effectively supervise assigned shifts of Fleet Maintenance employees, communicate/coordinate with other McKee Foods maintenance facilities, provide leadership and training for all Fleet Maintenance employees and other duties as assigned.
  • Work as a Fleet Maintenance Natural Management Team Member to achieve department goals
  • Supervise fleet maintenance crew and ensure the day-to-day operations of the department on 2nd Shift
  • Serve as liaison between fleet maintenance and other departments to ensure support and resolve issues
  • Serve on project teams
  • Serve as a source of technical expertise for work team members
  • Utilize standard work and leader standard work
  • Support and motivate others to engage in McKee Operating System (MOS) initiatives; ensure employees complete ongoing training and participate in lean initiatives
  • Manage with the goal of maximizing work efforts and efficiency while minimizing waste and downtime
  • Facilitate the growth and development of employees' knowledge and expertise in the areas of safety, MOS, teamwork, decision making and problem solving
  • Supporting and communicating McKee Foods Policies, Guiding Values and procedures when and where necessary
  • Lead team, improvement and safety meetings
  • Conduct inspections and audits
  • Willing to work all shifts and cross shifts
  • Must be willing and able to take additional training as necessary, travel, work long hours, Saturday nights and different shifts with little notice
  • Coordinate the activities of lift truck operators, freight truck spotters, and utility employees to ensure the completion of all in and out-bound loads by established times
  • Meet departmental goals relating to safety, cost, quality, and customer service
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • One or two years of post-high school education (minimum equivalent of 32 semester hours) or proven outstanding ability
  • Three years of supervisory experience in a fleet maintenance organization, or comparable experience
  • Good perception, judgment, and decision making in dealing with people
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Effective in planning, organizing and directing
  • Ability to lead within a team environment
  • Proactive in resolving problems
  • Ability to document and process information
  • Maintain strict confidentiality
  • Flexible to working different work schedules
  • Current Class "A" CDL or ability to obtain within one year
  • ASE Master Medium/Heavy Duty Truck Technician Certification or the ability to obtain within one year
Preferred Qualifications
  • Five years truck garage supervisory experience
  • Extensive knowledge of parts room inventory control processes
  • Five years' experience as a diesel technician, with at least two of those years maintaining electronic engines
  • General computer knowledge and skills
  • Proficiency with the following computer systems: Maximo and PeopleNet
  • Proficiency with the following software programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • OSHA 10 Hour Certification - General Industry Outreach Training
