The Opportunity

As a dedicated Forecasting Analyst I (Mid-Level), you will define problems, collects data, applies statistical and mathematical models to establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Develops, analyzes and models operational, economic, management, multi-channel or financial data to forecast the performance of business segments and evaluate potential operational changes. Proven ability to develop and communicate insights that consistently influence and drive action with business executives by using fact-based, holistic and forward-looking perspectives. Applies innovative /quantitative analytical approaches to make recommendations to resolve business problems, drive solutions and process improvements.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position will be based in San Antonio, TX; Phoenix, AZ; Colorado Springs, CO; Chesapeake, VA. or Tampa, FL Campuses. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

What you'll do:
  • Leverages intermediate business/analytical knowledge to participate in discussions with internal teams to understand, collaborate and influence solution strategies of business objectives.
  • Support implementation of emerging trends.
  • Applies innovative and quantitative analytical approaches, translates recommendations to business partners, provides reliable, consistent forecast/plan data and prepares written documentation and summaries on findings for review.
  • Research industry best practices.
  • Applies intermediate knowledge and thought leadership of various forecasting methodologies, system and tools.
  • Develop forecasting white papers for review.
  • Thoroughly documents assumptions, methodology, validation and testing for peer reviews and supports Governance, Risk and/or process work.
  • Other analysts should be able to rely on documentation to replicate and continue work.
  • Provides consultative guidance and effectively partners and influences appropriate business leaders and/or their representatives to integrate operational initiatives into the overall forecast/plan.
  • Succinctly delivers analysis/findings in a manner that conveys understanding, influences business leaders, garners support for recommendations, drives business decisions, and influences business strategy.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.


What you have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics or related discipline; OR 4 years of related experience in statistics, mathematics, forecasting or planning or related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree. (Total of 8 years without bachelor's degree)
  • 4 or more years of experience forecasting and/or planning to include expert utilization of data analysis tools in support of market, workforce and/or contact center operation OR If Master's Degree, 2 or more years of experience forecasting and/or planning to include expert utilization of data analysis tools in support of market, workforce and/or contact center operations OR If PhD, 1 or more years of experience forecasting and/or planning to include expert utilization of data analysis tools in support of market, workforce and/or contact center operations.


What sets you apart:
  • US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner
  • Experience applying workforce management methodologies within a financial services contact center.
  • Previous experience with workforce management systems, like NICE and Genesys Decisions.
  • Experience in conducting and presenting statistical analysis using various technical software and data visualization tools such as SAS, SQL, and Tableau.
  • Persuasive, influential and perceptive communicator who can adjust to various audiences and knowledge levels to drive business decisions.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $81,770 - $156,290.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
