Insight Global is searching for a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Architect to join a large retail client out of Irving, TX. This GCP Architect will be a part of the post-transaction retail team responsible for providing technical leadership to recommend cloud strategies for cloud cost optimization and the overall quality of the enterprise cloud environment. The candidate must have hands-on experience evaluating and implementing cloud strategies and program architecture. This includes architecture design, development, building, and automating secure cloud-based applications, as well as migrations of existing workloads to public clouds. You will focus on reviewing the current GCP setup and provide recommendations for better performance and efficiency. The candidate will have an extensive technical background, a solid understanding of applicable technologies, and possess technical expertise in the areas including PaaS, Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud Run, Cloud Security awareness, SRE practice concepts, and Google Cloud services cluster architecture. This candidate would possess extensive experience within GCP environments and have excellent time-management skills, and practices of effective communication style, especially with senior executive stakeholders. This resource should have extensive experience withing GCP, focused on cloud architecture and best practices. They should come in with expertise across GCP, GKE, Terraform and IaC.

Required Skills & Experience

12+ years of experience within cloud infrastructure engineering and hands on experience across cloud architecture.

12+ years of hands-on experience as a Cloud Architect, focused within GCP.

Profound experience with GCP cloud infrastructure, including design, implementation and solutioning.

Hands-on experience in deploying and managing containerized workloads across GCP.

Extensive experience within Kubernetes, specifically within GKE, building and managing clusters and containers.

Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.

Experience with public cloud architecture, Cloud strategy, networking, security, compliance workload types, migration patterns, and tools .

Deep understanding of DevOps paradigms and best practices such as SDLC methodologies in Google Cloud, as well as cost optimization practices.

Experience with Python, Java or Go with respect to designing, coding, testing, and software delivery.

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field

Retail industry experience, specifically eCommerce.

Mobile application experience

Experience leading large scale network migrations to GCP.
