The Department of Youth Services is seeking a detail oriented, customer service focused individual to fill a Health Information Technologist 2 (HIT2) position at our Cuyahoga Hills Juvenile Correctional Facility.

The duties for the HIT2 include but are not limited to:
  • Must become Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) Assessor within the first 30 days of completing pre-service training.
  • Develops, organizes, actuates & monitors health information system (Medicaid Pre-Release Enrollment Program/MPREP) in assigned facility.
  • Educate youth and guardian about Medicaid, OhioRISE, and CANS assessments.
  • Track youth releases and start MPREP approximately 90 days before release.
  • Work with families, parole, and outside stakeholders to provide Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) required identifiers.
  • Assist in completion of ODM's Upfront Inquiry form or 7216 application and having releases of information signed.
  • Arrange and facilitate and/or complete CANS assessments and enter CANS assessments into the CANS IT system.
  • Update tracking databases for accuracy to produce statistical reports and & data spreadsheets.
  • Collaborate with DYS Medical staff and or the Electronic Health Record system to obtain diagnoses and medications to share with ODM.

Qualifications

Completion of health information technology or health information administration program offered by technical school or university/college which would qualify applicant for accreditation as registered health information administrator (RHIA) or registered health information technician (RHIT). If curriculum did not include training in pharmacology, applicants must also have 1 course in pharmacology. Completion of 90 hr. national association of practical nurses educational services may be substituted for 1 course in pharmacology.
