Job Summary

Responsible for processing all release of information requests in a timely and efficient manner ensuring accuracy and providing customers with the highest quality product and customer service. The ROI Specialist I must at all times safeguard and protect the patient's right to privacy by ensuring that only authorized individuals have access to the patient's medical information and that all releases of information are in compliance with the request, authorization, company policy and HIPAA regulations. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. required. Associate or Baccalaureate degree preferred.
• RHIT or RHIA certification preferred.
• One (1) year of knowledge and/or training with clerical and general office work, equipment and procedures; beginning competencies with basic computer-based programs and job related applications required.
• One (1) year of experience in healthcare environment and/or with healthcare terminology preferred
