Title: HSE Systems Specialist

Salary: $75,000 - $95,000

Position Objective: Responsible for the full implementation of SiteDocs Safety software and continued maintenance of the system. Provides support to all business objectives and providing expert knowledge of document control systems while providing oversight to all business units and projects.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Technical Leadership:
    • Lead the implementation of SiteDocs safety software.
    • Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of the SiteDocs system.
    • Manage document control processes, including maintaining document registers and handling requests for information.
  • Procedural Development:
    • Develop and update company management procedures and platforms, such as SharePoint and SiteDocs.
    • Ensure compliance with plans, procedures, and client requirements for incoming documentation.
  • Communication & Training:
    • Implement effective communication strategies for internal news and information.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for internal training inquiries and support for external training as required.
    • Provide expert coaching and support on document control and system usage.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Foster a positive team environment and support effective cross-team relationships.
    • Stay updated with WHS, Environmental, and Quality frameworks and industry best practices.
  • HSEQ Oversight:
    • Review, update, and implement Integrated Management Systems (including workers' comp, risk management, and environment) to meet legal, risk, and ISO standards.
    • Lead and coach managers in implementing and verifying HSEQ management systems and safe work practices.
  • Analysis & Reporting:
    • Use HSEQ data to conduct analyses and provide insightful recommendations for the broader HSEQ systems and management strategy.
    • Conduct internal HSEQ audits, inspections, and quality checks, preparing reports with clearly defined findings.


Required Qualifications & Work Experience:
  • Technical Skills:
    • Working knowledge of HSE system implementation, particularly SiteDocs, and proficiency with SharePoint.
    • Strong multitasking and prioritization abilities in a dynamic environment.
  • Communication Proficiency:
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to develop and present concise reports, investigation findings, risk assessments, and training materials.
  • HSEQ Knowledge:
    • Extensive audit experience and knowledge of current Risk Management and ISO standards.
    • Strong understanding of HSEQ legislation, standards, and codes of practice, with the ability to apply them in the workplace.
  • Interpersonal Skills:
    • Experience in partnering with internal stakeholders to develop systems and processes.


Physical Demands:
  • Sedentary position requiring the ability to sit for extended periods, with frequent use of hands for typing and verbal communication.
  • Ability to reach, grasp, and occasionally perform activities such as stooping or kneeling.
  • Ability to speak, hear, and utilize specific vision abilities.


Work Environment:
  • Moderate exposure to unusual elements (e.g., extreme temperatures, dust, fumes).
  • Exposure to hazards or physical risks, requiring adherence to safety precautions and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Must be able to move freely throughout the facility without physical limitation and stand for long periods.


Education:
  • An Associate's or Technical degree in Health and Safety Management is desired; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
