JOB SUMMARY :

The Human Resources (HR) Specialist provides administrative support to the Human Resources department and employees. The HR Specialist is responsible for coordinating and/or assisting in HR functions such as: HR Administration to include records management and compliance, support of Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition, Onboarding, and Employee Rewards program. Maintain current working knowledge of compliance and regulatory concerns, industry trends and best HR practices Participate in continuous HR improvement initiatives and metrics.

Responsibilities and Duties:



Employee Relations

• Serves as the initial point of contact for employee relations issues including but not limited to investigations and conflict-management.

• Conducts initial interviews and gathers information for employee relations matters such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other concerns; informs appropriate HR staff when additional investigation is required.

• Maintains knowledge, understanding, and ensure compliance of company policies and procedures of Federal and State laws and regulations.

Talent Acquisition

• Develop and revise job descriptions.

• Assist Recruiter with the recruitment process.

• Collaborate with Onboarding Coordinator

• Serve as the secondary contact for hiring mangers throughout the recruitment process.

HR Administration

• Assists with preparation of plans, policies, documents, and reports including organizational charts, affiliation agreements, and employee handbooks.

• Assist with Employee Reward and Recognition activities.

• Provide HR reports as requested/ needed.

• HR Data integrity/ document management which includes but not limited to scanning documents into the electronic system and performing quality checks to ensure scanned images are legible.

• Audit electronic and physical files to ensure data is complete and accurate.

• Serve as backup Payroll liaison.

• Maintain expiring employee certification and licensure tracking to include sending reminders.

• Maintain confidentiality and accurate HR files.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.


Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



Required: Position requires high school diploma and three years responsible human resources administrative support experience. A relevant college degree may substitute for some of the experience requirements.

Preferred: Bachelor's degree in human resources, business management, business administration, or other relevant fields . Administrative experience in Human Resources strongly preferred.

Preferred: SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR
