OhioMHAS Information Services is the technology arm of the third largest cabinet level agency in the state of Ohio. We support more than 3,200 employees within six regional inpatient behavioral health hospitals, Ohio Pharmacy Services, and Central Office. We develop and support technology for several critical business solutions used by the agency as well as by county and local behavioral health care providers across the state.

Role Overview:

As an Epic Application Analyst supporting the Electronic Health Record at OhioMHAS, many opportunities are offered to impact family, friends, and the residents of the State of Ohio. The Analyst in this role will primarily work with the initial implementation of the Epic System and then support the system and end user to make sure the technology is optimized for our Regional Psychiatric Hospital for enhanced work processes and overall patient care. We are a close-knit community of IT staff and develop applications which allows mental health and addiction providers to serve our community in need. Our applications support, regulate, fund, and collect data to allow our organization the ability to respond to those in crisis as well as those needing continuity of care.

At OhioMHAS, our IT staff is motivated by the agency's mission, and we are accepting applications for multiple Epic Application Analyst (Information Technologist 3) positions within the Office of Information Technology, headquartered at the James Rhodes State Office Tower, 30 East Broad Street, 33rd floor, Columbus, Ohio 43215.

What You'll Do:
  • Acts as the primary support contact for the application's end users.
  • Identifies issues that arise in their application area as well was issues that impact other application teams and working to resolve them.
  • Guides workflow design, builds and tests the system, and analyzes other technical issues associated with Epic software.
  • Identifies and implements requested changes to the system.
  • Serving as a liaison between end users' workflow needs and Epic implementation staff.
  • Maintaining regular communication with Epic representatives, including participating in weekly team meetings.
  • Working with Epic representatives, internal business community, and end users to ensure the system meets the agency's business needs in regards to the project deliverables and timeline.
  • Develops an understanding of operational needs to set the direction for the organization's workflows by attending site visits and other integrated sessions.
  • Participates in training and working with end users.
  • Troubleshoots problems and questions.
  • Reviews the status of projects and issues on an ongoing basis with leadership.
  • Holds weekly communications with team members to discuss the status of deliverables, shared issues, end-user concerns, budget, and upcoming milestones.
  • Receives orientation related to mentorship and applies as necessary (e.g., definition, purpose, strategies, and evaluation techniques).
  • Promotes system security and awareness by adhering to the Agency's and/or State's IT security policy(s) and standards.
  • Stays current regarding new technologies, standards and techniques and learns and/or acquires new skills as required.

This position may require out-of-state travel.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate, at minimum, must have the following:

Alternative 1:
  • 36 mos. combined work experience in multiple areas of assigned responsibility (e.g., infrastructure, database administration, software development, business process analysis) including 12 mos. combined work experience as specified by the agency position description & job posting.
Alternative 2:
  • Completion of undergraduate core program in computer science or information systems AND
  • 12 combined work experience in multiple areas of assigned responsibility (e.g., infrastructure, database administration, software development, business process analysis) as specified by the agency position description & job posting.
Alternative 3:
  • Equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current Epic certification(s)
