Consumer Services Mission Statement:
The mission of the Consumer Services Division is to educate consumers on insurance products, facilitate communication between consumers and insurance companies, assist in the resolution of consumers' insurance problems and assure compliance with Ohio insurance regulations.
CSD is seeking a professional, detailed and research oriented candidate to fill an Insurance Complaint Analyst 3 position to assist the consumers of Ohio in understanding their insurance benefits and resolving their complex insurance issues. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills, a high level of emotional intelligence, and the ability to be adaptable.

What You'll Do:
Your Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Unless required by legislation or union contract, the final candidate can expect to be paid at the lowest step in the pay range (step 1). As an Insurance Complaint Analyst 3 , you will receive a raise after six (6) months and yearly step increases until you reach the top level of the pay range. There may also be possible cost of living adjustments (COLA) and longevity supplements begin after five (5) years of state service.
This position is designated astelework eligible. The agency has a hybrid work model (i.e., working in the office and working from home on a schedule based on operational need). As such, successful candidates must have and maintain internet at their remote location during normal working hours. In addition, employees must reside in Ohio and within a reasonable distance from the Department location to respond to workplace reporting requirements.

Qualifications
60 months experience in insurance field (i.e., regulatory or industry) working with insureds or insurance contracts pertinent to assigned line of business as specified by the position description & job posting; 6 months experience or 6 months training in operation of personal computer; 2 courses in mathematics (i.e., addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, statistics).
Or 6 courses in insurance & 2 courses in mathematics (i.e., addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, statistics); 42 months experience in insurance field (i.e., regulatory or industry) working with insureds or insurance contracts pertinent to assigned line of business as specified by the position description & job posting; 6 months experience or 6 months training in operation of personal computer.
Or completion of undergraduate core program in insurance or business & 2 courses in mathematics; 36 months experience in insurance field (i.e., regulatory or industry) working with insureds or insurance contracts pertinent to assigned line of business as specified by the position description & job posting; 6 months experience or 6 months training in operation of personal computer.
Or 12 months experience as Insurance Complaint Analyst 2, 67232.
Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

What You'll Do:

- Review, analyze, establish facts and draw valid conclusions regarding complaints related to all lines of insurance.
- Demonstrate research and analysis of the facts according to policy terms and applicable regulations through written and verbal responses.
- Identify possible violations of insurance laws.
- Make appropriate referrals to other divisions.
- Maintain records of investigation.
- Communicate complaint analysis and findings verbally and in writing in a professional manner.
- Assist consumers via telephone with insurance related questions and provide appropriate response .
- Performs other duties as assigned.
