Imaging Report Specialist 1 - Non Invasive Cardiology

Under supervision of the Section Manager and/or Coordinator and according to established procedures, performs transcription, retrieving/ delivering

of radiology reports and proof reading of radiology reports utilizing whichever systems currently in use. Performs moderately complex clerical

functions including receiving, classifying, reconciling, consolidating and summarizing reports, documents, and information. Maintains records and

logs. Maintains office/dictation equipment. Conducts analysis of Radiology reports in order to develop statistical data and to facilitate the timely

completion of the patient's records, according to JCAHO requirements and applicable laws and regulations. Provides training to the Radiologist

and Residents on the dictation system, in addition to assisting Radiology Records Assistants as required. Responsible for performing job duties in

accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Works in normal office environment.

This position has been evaluated as a Level 3 in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) definition of occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens.

Level III Positions in this category require the performance of tasks which do not involve exposure to blood and potentially infectious body fluids.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or G.E.D. required. AA/AS preferred. Understanding of transcription, dictation, reports, medical terminology and/or

radiology terminology required. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office. At least 1 year of related experience required. Medical Transcription Certification from an accredited program optional.
