Job Summary
Position will lead the industrial fabrication activities at the Fire Protection branch, including
managing other hourly welders and/or fitters.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
  • Fit, weld and fabricate industrial fire protection materials
  • Interprets application job sheets, blueprints and ISO drawings.
  • Verifies the final product meets quality control standards.
  • Analyzes all welds to ensure they are free of porosity and discontinuities.
  • Ensures all welds are visibly stamped or identified with markings to designate that welds
    were performed by a certified welder
  • Sorts piping per job and sorts line numbers per fabrication job.
  • Reviews the order ticket and determines the work to be performed meets the customer's
    specifications.
  • Troubleshoots issues with systematic, thoughtful, timely and effective solutions and
    procedures.
  • Demonstrates proper and safe use of tools and related equipment.
  • Leads other hourly associated in an industrial fabrication environment

    Typical Training/Experience.
  • HS Diploma, or GED, strongly preferred.
  • Must have 5 years' experience in the Industrial piping field.
  • Experience in providing quality, professional customer related services.

  • Ability to handle disruptions in stride with professionalism.
    Autonomy
  • Ability to work independently in a commercial setting.

  • Must be able to work independently and lead a team.
    Environmental Job Requirements
  • Performing this job requires frequent use of hands to handle, control or feel objects, tools,
    or controls.
  • Must be able to sit, talk, hear, and stand frequently throughout the day. Must be able to
    climb, reach above shoulder height, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl frequently.
  • The position occasionally may require lifting heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and
    performing strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
  • May work with or around typical construction materials and chemicals that require
    knowledge of a safety data sheets.
  • Must have reliable transportation, willing to travel and able to pass a drug screen,
    background check.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Must be able to certify ASME Mig, Tig and Flux-Core.
  • Must be experienced with carbon steel piping, stainless steel piping.
  • Pipe Fitting experience preparing large and small bore welded pipe.
  • Must be knowledgeable of all fitting take outs for screw and weld fittings.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and ISO drawing
  • Experience moving large pipe via Jib Crane/Gantry Carne.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively individually, as well as, in a team environment.
  • Must be able to schedule job task of upcoming work
  • Demonstrated ability to lead others.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Clean driving record with valid driver's license.
  • Language skills: Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
  • Willing to work overtime as needed.
