Job Summary

The Director of Stewardship & Supporter Engagement fosters positive and long-term supporter relationships that are critical to philanthropic support. This person leads and develops creative and increasingly sophisticated methods to enhance, advance and strengthen relationships with supporters and prospects to increase the likelihood of continued involvement, engagement and increased contributions to the University. As part of the Advancement Services team, they help to build a culture of gratitude, inspiration and accountability through stewardship and supporter relations, providing impactful communications and reports, and engaging supporter experiences. The Director supports the gift development activities of the Advancement and Alumni Engagement department and greater university.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or 5+ years of experience in fundraising, stewardship, supporter or customer relations, advancement services, marketing or project management.
  • Thorough knowledge of the methods and techniques of presenting information to the public.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and adjust under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and prioritize multiple demands in a complex environment.
  • Strong project management skills including a high level of accuracy, organization and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated analytical, strategic-thinking, adaptability and relationship building skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel.
