Clearance Requirements:
Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Reporting to the IT Limited Access Area (LAA), Sr. Manager, the IT Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing a team of System Administrators in support of the day-to-day operations of a secure enterprise network. This will include but is not limited to ensuring that our companys technology systems are reliable, up-to-date, secure, and meet the needs of the organization. This role involves strategic planning, coordination with program stakeholders, and leadership of the IT team to achieve departmental and company goals. Due to the security requirements of the role, this position is 100% on-stie.

What you bring to the table:
  • Bachelors degree in a related specialized area or the equivalent experience is required plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or masters degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience to meet managerial expectations.
Duties and tasks:
  • Oversee employee engagement activities, including direction, coaching, feedback, and growth of technical staff, handle recruitment, supervision, scheduling, evaluations, to create/maintain a high-performance team.
  • Conduct employee management assessments and recommendations under general guidance, covering talent acquisition, development planning, performance evaluation, and salary planning.
  • Collaborate with program stakeholders to determine business and system requirements for new technology implementations.
  • Maintain consistent communication with executives, department heads, and end-users about IT activities.
  • Foster relationships to influence and coordinate teams across regions.
  • Oversee the management of the IT infrastructure including deployment, maintenance, upgrades, and support of systems and assets.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies to meet business needs.
  • Oversee development of and approve IT policies for architecture, security, disaster recovery, purchasing, and service provision.
  • Establish operational metrics to track performance against objectives and address deficiencies.
  • Ensure the team is adhering to GDMS audit/compliance policies; ensure team compliance and risk mitigation for security.
  • Oversee IT projects ensuring successful outcomes for the secure enterprise network to drive towards a Center of Excellence
  • Lead process improvements for quality and timely IT service delivery.
  • Direct strategic IT planning; encourage innovation and resource allocation for mission-critical operations.
  • Advise on strategic updates, service delivery improvements, and continuous evolution of people, processes, and technology.
  • Manage IT department finances including purchasing, budgeting; contribute to annual budget development and cost-saving strategies.
  • Moderate business travel required

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Knowledge of network and PC operating systems relevant to our organization.
  • Understanding of tech environments, including telecoms and programming.
  • Proficient in written and verbal communication, with skills in presentations and consensus-building.
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, and questioning capabilities.
  • Advanced analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Proven experience in managing IT service teams in engineering and/or manufacturing settings across multiple locations.
  • Strong organizational skills with experience leading a team of 15+ system administrators, multitasking, and independent decision-making.
  • Familiarity with change management principles and strategies for implementing change.
  • Knowledge of IT industry methodologies like DevOps and Agile.
  • Awareness of GDMS business strategy and how Business Operations strategies support it.
  • Understanding of information security practices, especially in the defense sector.
  • Ability to navigate uncertainties in a dynamic business climate.
  • Skills in budgeting, strategic planning, problem-solving, and cost analysis.
Salary Note

This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.

Combined Salary Range

USD $135,774.80 - USD $146,912.60 /Yr.
