Infra. Technology Specialist- Operations Engineer

Locations: Anywhere in United States (remote)

We are looking for Infra. Technology Specialist- Operations Engineer for an immediate need. This is a remote position, and the candidate will have regular interactions with various client leaders.

Overview: We are seeking an Infra. Technology Specialist (Senior Associate) with 5-9 years of experience, skilled in MySQL DB Administration, SQL, and Azure SQL. This role is pivotal in maintaining and enhancing our database infrastructure, ensuring high availability, and performance to meet our dynamic business needs.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of MySQL, SQL, and Azure SQL databases to ensure optimal performance.

• Monitor database systems to ensure secure and efficient operation, identifying and resolving any issues that arise.

• Implement and maintain database security measures to protect sensitive data.

• Collaborate with development teams to optimize database structures, queries, and indexes for maximum efficiency. - Conduct regular database backups and recovery procedures to prevent data loss.

• Provide technical support and guidance on database management and optimization to team members.

• Stay abreast of new technologies and trends in database management to recommend and implement improvements.

• Participate in the planning and execution of database migration and upgrade projects.

• Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and best practices.

• Analyze and report on database performance metrics to stakeholders.

Qualifications -

• Must have a strong foundation in MySQL DB Administration, SQL, and Azure SQL.

• Experience in managing large-scale databases in a high-availability environment is essential.

• Proficiency in database security, backup, and recovery methodologies.

• Good understanding of database performance tuning and optimization techniques.

• Familiarity with cloud services, particularly Azure, is highly desirable.

• Effective communication and collaboration skills are crucial.

• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues.

• Knowledge in the Provider domain is a plus, but not mandatory.

• A proactive approach to database management and a keen eye for detail.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Salary and Other Compensation:

• The annual salary for this position is [$87,300 to $126,000] depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
• This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
