Job Summary:
The Inpatient Clinical System Applications Manager will manage and coordinate staff activities in the development and implementation of the Hospital wide electronic medical record for Inpatient Clinical area. The Inpatient Clinical system affects area such as Cardiology, Inpatient Nursing Areas, L & D, Physician Order entry, Transplant and etc. This individual will work with clinical personnel to ensure development, work flows and implementation of system benefits all providers. This individual will support, clarify project intent, address issues and suggest changes. This individual will oversee design, development, application, marketing and resource allocation of project(s). This individual will manage and coordinate meetings, review plans, communications direction and ensure oversight guidance. This individual will work with other managers from inception to successful implementation following approved project management methodologies, providing staff feedback, direction and project scope.
This individual must have the ability to plan, organize, direct, implement and evaluate processes and manage resources to achieve desired results. This individual should be goal oriented, action-focused, pragmatic, self-disciplined, organized and able to lead. This position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong problem solving skills, ability to understand business processes and function independently as well as within a team structure.
Education:
Required:
Bachelor's Degree required in Computer Science, Nursing, Business Administration or Healthcare related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Broad healthcare experience required.
Preferred:
Project Management certification
Experience:
Required:
Three - five years of operational experience in a clinical or healthcare business operations setting or Information Technology.
Preferred:
Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration
Required:
Valid driver's license. Valid licensure to practice in the State of Tennessee (if applicable). Complete education and pass certification in assigned EPIC application module(s) within 120 days of completed education.
Preferred:
EPIC certification in the module(s) being represented
Experience in EMR installation
Project Management certification
Employee Competency/Performance Assessment:
Work with Inpatient departments (Transplant, Inpatient area, Cardiology, Physician ordering, etc) to make sure processes are functional for department.
Work with both Nursing and Physician to ensure CPOE flow is user friendly and productive use of time.
Manage overall internal and customer operational functions to deliver the best product and customers (Transplant, Cardiology, Nursing and Physicians) have knowledge of function and flow.
Manage cross-functional teams focused on design, development, analysis, configuration and implementation
Assists in development and implementation of applications aspects of overall Information System.
Supervises project(s) ensuring tasks, resources and project plans are met
Support multiple concurrent projects and/or applications modules; educates and coaches Team members.
Meets user expectations thru oversight of projects plans and timelines.
Assists with completion of current processes ensuring analysis and data flow is mapped for effective use and practice.
Able to perform system troubleshooting in a systematic manner and solve problems in a timely manner.
Demonstrates ability to adapt to changing requirements and priorities.
Team player, accountability/dependability, self-confidence, composure, self-directed, motivated with strong work ethic, results oriented and an outgoing personality
Excellent leadership, listening, written and oral communication skills with ability to build productive relationships across the business.
Ability to lead on-time completion of projects and communication skills
