Description
The Client group has an immediate opening for a contract position to support ecotoxicological research work.
This individual will work closely with other Client team members to support the daily lab testing conduct and culture care.
Typical responsibilities will include:
Maintenance of testing organisms such as zebrafish and aquatic invertebrates.
Conduct assays or perform lab activities in the field of zebrafish culture maintenance, breeding etc,.
Under supervision of senior scientist, weigh materials, prepare reagents and conduct production assays using lab instruments and automation systems.
Ensure successful testing by following operating instructions and maintaining supplies.
If needed, assist with testing and calibrating lab equipment in preparation for specific tasks.
Follow all company policies and procedures to ensure product integrity and quality control
Attend and participate in team and department meetings.
This role may involve working with other organisms, such as insects and bees.
Qualifications
This position requires at least a high school degree, but an Associates or BS degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related disciplines is preferred.
Masters Degrees will not be considered for this position.
Ability to successfully work in a team environment and to deliver against challenging projects and timelines.
Capable of prioritizing tasks to meet goals and ensure product quality
Ability to communicate effectively.
Understanding of basic principles and techniques in general plant/animal biology and aseptic culturing techniques is desirable.
Experience with aquatic organisms and/or terrestrial invertebrates is a plus.
Experience with laboratory automation is a plus.
