State Fund's Information Technology (IT), Quality Assurance (QA) Unit has some openings for a Lead Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to deliver quality products and solutions. Joining the State Fund IT team gives you an opportunity to solve business problems using technology with a focus on quality engineering, automation and technological innovations.

You will be joining a collaborative team of IT professionals in building great products with high quality, scalability, reliability, security and performance.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead a team of IT professionals in planning and delivering complex software projects with high standards through a systematic, dynamic, innovative and robust QE approach.
  • Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to design, develop and deliver business critical Claims Nextgen applications and provide projects status/risks.
  • Lead BRD, TDD, SDD, design reviews, test strategy, automation strategy reviews from Claims QA department and provide effort estimations for timely delivery.
  • Involve as a Subject Matter Expert in Claims Portfolio and its application area to build robust, secured application ecosystem, UI/UX, Portals, ChatBots, AI/ML, Microservices and APIs.
  • Perform proof-of-concept and proof-of-technology evaluations for integrating third party tools, products and solutions into our application testing landscape at State Fund.
  • Lead and make recommendations for CI/CD/CT or DevSecOps or QE initiatives, Secure SDLC and Agile/Waterfall methodologies and process improvements.

State Fund may assist in supporting H1B Visas for candidates who are selected after the interview process.

New to state candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of the alternate salary range when applicable. Placement to alternate salary range may be based on education or experience identified in your state application.

Desirable Qualifications In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

The successful candidate for this position will also possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • 7+ years of Lead Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) or QE experience in delivering high quality products or software applications in onshore/offshore delivery models.
  • Experience in one or more application frameworks and ecosystems: C#, .NET, Java, JQuery, AngularJS, ReactJS, GraphQL, gRPC, Microservices, APIs, HL7 FHIR, and XML.
  • Expertise with Claims applications, Chatbot, Portals, AI/ML, Payment, EMR, eBills, Legal, Letters, Document platforms functional, end-to-end, automation with security/performance mindset.
  • Proficient experience in QE tools specifically Software testing, Performance testing, Test Automation and Application Security DAST/IAST with a focus on AI.
  • Adept with POM, BDD or Hybrid automation frameworks using Cucumber-JVM, Selenium, Gherkin, AutoIT, Grid, xPath and QE efficiency using codeless automation and GenAI.
  • Proficient with SQL for adding, modifying and extracting data from a RDBMS database.
  • Working knowledge of version control tools (TFS, GIT or SVN), Test Plan, Defect and Reporting Management process in JIRA or other bug tracking system with BI and Data Analytics.
  • Ability to learn or adapt new technologies, good innovation/creativity, communication and presentation skills, teamwork and collaboration skills.
