Job Summary

We're looking for a learning and development specialist who is passionate and excited to work with staff and help them in their professional development journey. They will assess for needs, design, develop, and deliver engaging agency-wide training opportunities. Training topics will include technology skills, on-the-job skills, and interpersonal skills. They will also coordinate and maintain the content of the Employee Development Services' (EDS) intranet site to highlight EDS' services and course offerings. They'll also support the EDS team and division trainers in using the agency's learning management systems. If you're someone who enjoys working with both people and detailed processes, apply today!

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • 2 years of training and development experience, one of which should be related to technology and on-the-job skills training (A Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Development (HRD), Education, Communications or related field will count as 1 year of experience), including:
    • Assessing organizational needs and determining training gaps
    • Determining delivery methods
    • Designing and developing training content
    • Delivering training in-person and virtually
    • Evaluating training effectiveness
  • Experience with the administrative functions of Enterprise Learning Management (ELM).
  • Experience developing and maintaining SharePoint sites.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to effectively present ideas and information and to build collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
  • Proficient computer and technology skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook, Teams.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with internal subject-matter-experts (SMEs) as an internal consultant, identifying effective training solutions to fill employee skill gaps on agency processes or systems.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, used in development of training content, training materials, and intranet site content.
  • Certifications and/or experience as a facilitator of development tools and assessments such as Insights Discovery, CliftonStrengths, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), Thomas Kilman Instrument (TKI), or others similar in nature.

Physical Requirements

Requires occasional moving of articles such as boxes, accounting records, laptop computer, and portable printer.

Additional Requirements
