- Plans, develops, directs, organizes, and coordinates all activities for Maintenance, Environmental Services, Capital Projects, renovations, ground maintenance.
- Supervises & inspects construction, alteration & maintenance (e.g., electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, painting, welding, air quality, etc) of buildings, equipment, systems & grounds located at the Heartland Behavioral Healthcare
- Supervises Environmental Services (custodial workers) in the cleaning of residential areas: makes work assignments; inspects areas to ensure tasks are performed satisfactorily.
- Supervises all maintenance staff in maintenance & repair work of buildings, equipment & grounds and ensures compliance with applicable laws, standards, policies & procedures.
- Conducts frequent inspections of facility (e.g., buildings, equipment, systems) & grounds to identify improvements that are needed & to monitor construction &/or maintenance work already in progress
- Inspects repairs &/ or upgrades to assure compliance with applicable state, federal & other regulations
- Develops specifications for major contract work
- Functions as facility liaison during contract work with contractors, architects & inspectors
- Researches, gathers & provides information, costs, reports, etc. with development of capital plan requests
- Orders equipment/supplies for department personnel & manages maintenance inventory
- Assigns & completes work orders
- Establishes (e.g. writes & implements) maintenance repair & replacement policies & other department procedures.
- Serves on hospital Environment of Care Committee and other committees as assigned: attends & participates in meetings & in-service training as appropriate

Qualifications
4 yrs. trg. or 4 yrs. exp. in business administration management science or public administration.
-Or completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, management science or public administration; 2 yrs. trg. or 2 yrs. exp. in supervisory, administrative &/or managerial position.
-Or completion of undergraduate core program in academic field commensurate with program area to be assigned per approved Position Description on file; 2 yrs. trg. or 2 yrs. exp. in supervisory, administrative &/or managerial position or staff position involving planning, research &/or policy/procedure development.
-Or 1 yr. exp. as Program Administrator 1, 63122.
-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above
