Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Maintenance Support Specialist to join our Alabama River Cellulose team in Perdue Hill, AL who will advance our team's capabilities. As a Maintenance Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in facilitating the smooth execution of maintenance outages, maintain contractor partnerships, and document and analyze outage cost and time data. This position will report to the Maintenance Manager.

What You Will Do
  • Maintain contractor partnerships, including tasks such as reviewing and updating rosters, assigning badges, approving timesheets, ensuring gate log security, conducting outage safety meetings, and verifying work completion.
  • Create and distribute RFQ (Request for Quotation) booklets for each individual mill area outlining scope of work, schedule, technical specifications, pricing, submission guidelines, evaluation criteria, terms and conditions and contract information.
  • Manage and update the Pre-Outage and Outage Microsoft TEAMS page to ensure accurate and up-to-date information is accessible by all relevant stakeholders.
  • Independently prepare and distribute daily T&M cost reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with multiple departments and teams to ensure seamless execution and coordination of maintenance outages prior to and during outages.
  • Communicate cost plans and provide regular updates to contractors during the outage, ensuring transparency and keeping them informed of any changes or adjustments.
  • Review and approve invoices received from Accounts Payable, ensuring accuracy and adherence to budgetary guidelines.
  • Accurately record and document labor hours, material usage, and expenses incurred during maintenance outages.
  • Create, maintain, and analyze outage tracking reports in Microsoft Excel to provide a clear overview of project progress and milestones, personnel hours, and outage costs.
  • Utilize 4site system for monitoring accounts, procuring necessary inventory, managing inventory levels, and conducting asset maintenance activities.
  • Utilize P&ID drawings to understand and document LOOP numbers, line numbers, and valve numbers accurately in the Vault system for effective organization and management.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Experience with Microsoft Suites (Word, Power Point, Outlook, Bookings)
  • Experience creating, maintaining, and analyzing Excel documents (Pivot Tables, Data Validation, Filters, Formulas, Lookups, etc.)
  • High School Diploma or GED


What Will Put You Ahead
  • Experience utilizing a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) such as SAP, 4site, Vault etc.
  • Experience in the Pulp and Paper Industry
