The GCS Marketing Analytics, Investment & Marketing Enablement team, as part of Global Commercial Services within American Express, is responsible for overseeing marketing analytics, data products, data platforms, investment optimization and marketing enablement specific to the Global Commercial Services (GCS) business. Reporting to the VP, Analytics, Investment & Marketing Enablement (GCS-AIM), the Manager-Strategic Planning is a key role supporting the day-to-day project management and operations of the team while also providing analytical, strategic, and thought leadership for key projects & initiatives impacting the team. The ideal candidate would be a strong problem solver, who possesses the confidence and composure to successfully manage a wide range of initiatives, whilst working and collaborating efficiently across multiple teams within GCSM.

How will you make an impact in this role?

Key Responsibilities include

  • Provide planning and coordination support, including involvement in project management, analytics, and critical initiatives, as required
  • Own key programs, processes, and tracking (e.g. budget oversight, tracking, monthly performance metrics)
  • Independently lead key strategic asks involving advanced statistical analysis, data science & machine learning and communicate results impactfully
  • Assist in building impactful and comprehensive presentations for key business reviews with senior management, business partners and team meetings
  • Support the creation of external and internal organizational communications throughout multiple channels including memos, announcements, etc.
  • Build strong working relationships across the team, as well as with business partner groups to ensure good collaboration, efficient problem solving and creative solutioning for delivering on results


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree OR 2+ years of relevant experience in data analytics, machine learning or advanced modeling
  • Excellent SAS/SQL Skills and experience of working with large and unstructured data.
  • Strong programming skills (C, C++, JAVA, Python, R etc.)
  • Strategic & analytical problem solver with demonstrated quantitative skill
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Able to learn quickly and "connect the dots"
  • Drive results while working autonomously with minimal direction
  • Motivated self-starter who is interested in gaining exposure to a broad set of Marketing disciplines and the wider functions across the Commercial Business
  • Strong professional presence and interpersonal skills with an ability to collaborate, influence, and be a standout colleague
  • Works extremely well under pressure in a dynamic, high-matrixed and fast paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and operate with the highest levels of integrity


Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Credit Cards / Payments/ Banking space & exposure to building Generative AI solutions is highly preferred
  • Familiarity with recommendation systems such as collaborative filtering, k-nearest neighbors, association rules, market basket analysis, SVD (singular value decomposition), and matrix factorization methods


Qualifications

Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
