Key Responsibilities:

The Change Management Manager directly supports frontline field leaders and employees in the adoption of new tools, technologies and processes. They will be responsible for helping hire, train, prepare and support by being actively engaged in those projects and collectively delivering feedback to project owners. As a collateral owner of an above-the-wing and/or below-the-wing portfolio, this individual will be involved in large and small enterprise projects and may have direct reports on their team. This role supports the Airport Operations (AO) organization in end-to-end change management from researching and interpreting data that drives organizational change management strategies to project management to tactical change activities throughout the system. Works closely with key stakeholders to ensure United's AO organization is prepared to shift and readily adapt to new tools/technology/processes to deliver great customer service to our travelers around the world every day. It is critical that this role establish and maintain strong business relationships with both senior and operating-level business leaders, including our frontline coworkers, and be a key interface with the business. In particular, the leadership of this role to collaborate with Customer Strategy and Innovation, Digital Technology, Communications & Training will be essential to the success of the broader team.

  • Lead the development of all change management deliverables - including capability & process models, stakeholder impact assessments and support the development of training and communications content for impacted collaborators
  • Serve as the advocate for frontline coworkers in the scope definition and business analysis of airline platform transformation projects
  • Define and analyze the organizational change impacts for internal partners affected by a project
  • Dotted line to lead team of field front-line champions to manage organizational change / impact
  • Partner with organizational leadership, communication, training, and business support teams to develop integrated organizational change activities for all target audiences
  • Facilitate various changes planning sessions with project SMEs, leaders and managers to define the change management process of for project initiatives

Qualifications

What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • 4+ years of relevant experience
  • Some consulting experience in Change Management
  • Experience in designing or facilitating change management workflows, collaboration and/or support
  • Knowledge working with Microsoft Office suite including PowerPoint, Excel and SharePoint
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent active listening skills, strong organization and project management skills
  • Must be a great teammate and have the ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Proven strength in business writing and communications
  • 20-50% travel
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is a crucial function of the position


What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

  • 4+ years of consulting experience in Change Management
  • 2+ years of management experience
  • Experience facilitating groups of individuals to unstructured outcomes
  • Proficiency with Vengage and other Change Management tools
  • Preferred certification in Change Management methodologies (e.g. Prosci Certified Change Practitioner, Certified Change Management Professional™ (CCMP™)) with program level experience in leading strategy/execution of Change Management deliverables, across multiple workstreams
  • Knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools
  • Experience in motivating change management methodologies in aviation and/or frontline employees'/operations
  • Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods, data collection & analysis and data visualization
  • Ability to interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and providing ongoing reports
  • Prior direct supervision experience having a direct report(s) and Airport Operations leadership experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting ideas and concepts to leadership
