Summary
  • Position Summary
    • This is managerial, supervisory and technical work managing the technical activities of the Clinical Engineering Department. This encompasses the design, specification, implementation and overall technical support of the biomedical and medical imaging equipment and systems for all MMC sites and the direct supervision of a staff of biomedical technicians. The position acts as the principal technical resource for all aspects of the technical service/support of biomedical and medical imaging equipment and systems and associated computers, workstations and networks. Participates in the development and monitoring of departmental budgets. The position is responsible for providing selected technical consulting services to SYNERNET, it's customer hospitals and the COMPASS Clinical Engineering Division.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: Bachelor's degree in biomedical or electrical engineering.
    • License/Certification: N/A.
    • Experience: Seven (7) or more years of related technical work experience; three (3) years or more of supervisory experience preferred.
    • Demonstrated technical knowledge of electronic biomedical and imaging equipment systems and associated computers, workstations and networks.
    • Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills necessary to effectively supervise subordinates, foster effective working relationships with key medical and administrative staff(s) and participate in multi-disciplinary teams at multiple MMC and MaineHealth/SYNERNET hospital sites.
    • Analytic and technical skills necessary to participate in the evaluation and design of biomedical and medical imaging equipment and systems and associated peripherals and networks and oversee the work of technicians.
    • Analytical skills necessary in order to participate in the development and management of budgets, policies and procedures and programs designed to achieve and maintain support services, quality assurance standards and to meet established operational, quality and financial departmental and institutional goals.
