GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Manufacturing Industrial Engineer is responsible for evaluating manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators. Duties involve the study of work systems, researching best practices and data collection, manipulation, and analysis.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
  • Assist in developing and implementing lean engineering tools and reviewing work methods, work station design and documenting process methods.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives at the plant level including work studies and time studies to analyze work systems and develop standards, allowances and/or improvements to existing systems
  • Work closely with manufacturing engineering and process teams to design, install, and launch robust processes;
  • Provide guidance as to best layout scenarios and recommend changes for optimum efficiency;
  • Validation of manufacturing methods;
  • Facilitate cross-functional process improvement teams;
  • Facilitate and perform training on manufacturing procedures and processes.


REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE and ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of industrial engineering and manufacturing activities including methods improvement, FMEAs, SPC, capability studies, failure analysis, tooling, plant layout, work flow, manufacturing cost control and reduction
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing Tools; Value Stream Mapping, 5s, Standardized Work, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Error Proofing, Set up Reduction, Continuous Flow, economic analysis, statistics, human factors, time studies, operations research
  • Commitment to working safely
  • Ability to manage projects and perform assigned tasks with minimal oversight and direction
  • Proactive with desire to improve organization performance
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to influence & negotiate at all levels
  • Strong project management skillset; detail oriented
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)


REQUIRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field
  • 0 -5 years' experience in Industrial engineering, process engineering
  • U.S. person as defined in ITAR, 22CFR 1120.15 (U.S. Citizenship or Resident Alien Status)
