Position Summary:

Without supervision, Material Handlers- Level 3 demonstrate expert ability to perform all material handling and production control tasks. Including navigate MRP system to look at customer demand in light of production inventories to plan, schedule and release more internal orders to make up quantities to satisfy customer demand. May serve as a production control SME for machine shop dealing with higher volume. Will also demonstrate expert knowledge of entire supply/value stream for the shop production. 5+ YOE.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and perform all aspects of material handling, including receiving, storing, and distributing materials, parts, and products.
  • Utilize the MRP system to analyze customer demand against current production inventories.
  • Serve as an inventory control SME for high-volume machine shop operations, providing guidance and support to lower level team members.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, material usage, and stock movements to ensure efficient inventory management.
  • Monitor and coordinate material flow throughout the entire supply/value stream for the shop production process.
  • Collaborate with production and supply chain teams to identify and resolve material shortages or discrepancies.
  • Lead efforts to improve material handling processes, including recommending and implementing best practices for inventory management.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and cranes as needed to support production activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and operational protocols, including the proper handling and storage of hazardous materials.
Required Skills:
  • Production planning experience including the ability to release, change, or close work orders.
  • Execute cycle count program through MRP.
  • Expert proficiency in using MRP systems to manage inventory and production demand.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control principles and supply chain management.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions regarding material flow and inventory levels.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently without supervision.
  • Proficient in operating material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.).
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for coordinating with various departments and teams.
  • Ability to lead, train, and mentor less experienced material handlers.
  • Ability to lift to 35lbs.
Required Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in material handling or inventory control, preferably within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Proven experience working with MRP systems and inventory management software.
  • Experience serving in a Subject Matter Expert (SME) role related to inventory control or material handling is highly desirable.
  • Experience in a high-volume machine shop or similar production environment is a plus.
Level of Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field preferred.
  • Certification in forklift operation or other relevant material handling equipment is a plus.

For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter .
