Mechanical Systems Design Engineer, Abuse Test & Engineering, Semi

Run experiments and better understand the abuse tolerance of different mechanical components and systems. Use this understanding to assess hazards and collaborate in the development of hardware and requirements across a broad product line.

Responsibilities

• Create experiments to push mechanical systems to their limits
• Study the properties of mechanical failures
• Root cause and recreate failure modes
• Write specifications that shape the design of products across our whole product line

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or equivalent experience
• General mechanical, thermal, and electrical foundation
• Automotive/grid scale energy components or systems experience, a plus

Expected Compensation

$84,000 - $324,000/annual salary, depending on level + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
