Responsibilities

This is a highly visible role responsible for managing internal and external marketing and communications. Works closely with NWRDC Senior Leadership to coordinate, establish and implement an organization-wide internal communications policy. Responsible for leading and coordinating annual reports, brochures, web content, and internal and external communications. Manage and implement employee engagement programs and initiatives. Monitor and maintain social media platforms. Creative writing and public speaking skills are required; incumbent should be comfortable in presenting data to internal and external stakeholders.

Responsible for the creation and distribution and maintenance of internal and external facing NWRDC communications. Ensure organizational initiatives are communicated to employees. Ensure internal and external communications are consistent. Lead internal-facing social media efforts by developing content calendars and engaging content plans, curating content, and collecting, updating, and maintaining information on important internal and external events and meetings. Interview key people to generate ideas for new articles and new content types. Monitor social media platforms and daily social activity and engage internal and external customers through relevant content, problem-solving, and customer service. Create content and communication campaigns while working in a fast paced environment under tight deadlines. Proofread and edit content experts' material for newsletters, reports, and various publications. Ensure content consistency (e.g., style, tone, voice, audience appropriateness).

Work directly with the NWRDC Senior Leadership to coordinate, establish, and implement an organization-wide internal communications policy. Assist in planning and implementing a comprehensive communications strategy integrated across all lines of business that includes social media, press releases, newsletters, event messaging, earned media, and paid advertising. Assist in creating relationships with media organizations, creative agencies, printers, and key stakeholders to build brand awareness for NWRDC.

Manage new-hire introductions and highlight employee achievements through written memos. Responsible for creating, updating, and distributing an organization wide calendar that tracks important events, holidays, meetings, etc. Utilize Smartsheet, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe, Canva and Word for presentations and record keeping as needed. Gather information and track achievements throughout the year to develop the NWRDC Annual Report. Coordinate dissemination of the Annual Report to key stakeholders.

Keep current on media trends, technologies, and advancements in communication tactics and outreach. Research media coverage, audience behavior/engagement, and recommend new opportunities.

Participate in approved professional development opportunities per NWRDC's policy. Professional development and training are defined as learning undertaken by the employee to maintain and advance their skills, knowledge, and competencies, specifically as they relate and add value to the job and workplace.

NWRDC provides support for a wide range of state and local government, as well as K-20 organizations across the State of Florida. These organizations are dependent on NWRDC in order to accomplish their missions. This requires NWRDC to maintain services 24x7, even during times of crisis or emergency. As such, all NWRDC staff are considered essential staff for operations of the State of Florida.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two years of experience or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience. (Note: or a combination of post high school education or experience equal to six years.
