Job Duties

The Laboratory staff at SWVMHI consistently provide accurate and precise laboratory services through the collection and analysis of blood and body fluids for the diagnosis and treatment of disease in the patient population we serve.

Minimum Qualifications

Licensed and trained as a Medical Technologist or Technician. (MT or MLT License)
Excellent phlebotomy skills
Ability to work in a secure and locked environment with individuals who are experiencing acute symptoms of mental illness and/or additional forensic/legal involvement.

Additional Considerations

Considerable experience as a phlebotomist and MT or MLT and certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathology or equivalent.
The Credential Maintenance Program is required for all individuals who are ASCP certified beginning January 1, 2004.
Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science (medical technology) or acceptable science field is preferred.

These positions are hourly/wage and not eligible for benefits. Hourly (wage) employees may not work more than 29 hours a week and are limited to working 1500 hours in a year.
