USPI Northwest Surgery Center Red Oak is seeking a motivated Medical Records Clerk to join our team. We have 5 OR rooms and 2 Treatment rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in Colon and Rectal, ENT, Gastroenterology, General, Gynecology, Hand, Ophthalmology, Pain Management, Plastic, Podiatry, Urology. We are looking for a candidate to be available Monday-Friday, schedule subject to changed based on surgical schedule and flow of day. Candidate needs to be available for some early mornings and later evenings.

Job Summary: Medical Records Clerk is responsible for assembling and maintaining patient's health information in medical records and charts. Ensures all paper and electronic records are complete, properly identified and signed. Copies, retrieves and tracks medical records request. Assembles charts for peer reviews and conducts chart audits on a daily basis. Responsible for tracking dictations to assure all cases are dictated and follow up should be made with physicians regarding missing dictation of cases.

Required Skills:
  • Minimum 1-2 years of hospital or medical records experience required.
  • Knowledge of The Joint Commission Standards
  • Ability to use time wisely in preparing work area to meet high-paced demand.
  • Show a genuine desire to work and improve the center as a whole.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and non-verbally in a professional manner.
  • Must be able to adhere to hospital financial and admitting policies.
