Job Duties
This position provides group support services to clinical staff in the Mental Health & Wellness Department at a major adult correctional center including psycho-educational programming, recreational activities and other mental health & wellness related programming.
Enters relevant data into CORIS and other databases to track group programming assignment and attendance as well as master pass lists.
Completes documentation in inmate health records and ensures that documentation is completed by the end of the work day.
Participates in the Mental health & wellness department team meetings and implements programming the team and supervisor determine.
Reports critical mental health needs immediately to the Mental Health Clinician Sr and other mental health staff, if needed as soon as possible.
May be involved with special projects or programs.
This is a wage position limited to working no more than 1,500 hours per agency during the 12 month period of May 1 - April 30, regardless of the hire date. The wage employment period resets on May 1 of the following year. All wage employees are limited to working no more than 29 hours per week on average over the 12-month period. This wage position offers no state benefits.

- Working knowledge of psychiatric diagnoses and warning signs to be aware of for mental health deterioration
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing and proficient in completing required documentation in a timely manner
- Ability to participate in treatment team meetings and to support the team's goals and objectives by offering group programs and activities that inmates find engaging and are educational and therapeutic in nature
- Training and experience in provision of group programming, including psychoeducational and recreational activities
- Experience in assisting with goal and objectives setting, treatment and behavioral plans
- Skilled in computer programs such as Microsoft office programs
- Qualified Mental Health Professional Trainee (QMHP-T) eligible
- Relevant professional experience and understanding of confidentiality of sensitive or protected information
