Transfer:
Candidates must have one year of permanent status as a Mental Health Program Specialist 2 and be eligible for lateral transfer OR be eligible to transfer via Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Duties Description The New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) is recruiting to fill a Mental Health Program Specialist 2, G-23, position in the Division of State Operated Children's and Adult Services. The Division of State Operations has a diverse portfolio with the primary goal of ensuring that individuals in any state operated program are receiving the supports, skills and knowledge to help them lead their best life.

Under the general direction of the Statewide Director of Rehabilitation Services, the specific duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Work collaboratively with Directors of Rehabilitation or Recreation, among other leaders, at adult, children's, and forensics psychiatric centers to promote and advance recovery-oriented initiatives.
• Assist in the advancement of a variety of initiatives that may include evidence-based practices (EBPs), employment, curricula development/sharing, exploration and use of new technology, and improving patient/participant engagement.
• Manage/coordinate resources that may include contracted vendors and training partners.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to evaluate and improve engagement strategies in inpatient and outpatient (residential, clinic, etc.) settings.
• Assist in guiding the development of facility rehabilitation and related community support services.
• Assist in improving a variety of competencies that may include vocational, recreational, physical therapy, and occupational therapy services in facilities.
• Participate in a multidisciplinary team made up of Discipline Chiefs, Medical Leadership, and other subject matter experts to assist with implementation on initiatives and enhanced programming designed to improve clinical outcomes to support community integration.
