Metrology Technician, Cybertruck, Body In White

The Metrology Technician will inspect parts, using CMM (Coordinate Measurement Machine by Contact or Laser, , Portable Arm, Scan Box, Nikon Laser Radar), check for fixture certification when applicable, deliver reliable data and communicate any issues related to machine's hardware and software. Other responsibilities include keeping a traceable data to update CM4D, Cyber App. Qualifications to become a CMM technician some experience in manufacturing.


Responsibilities

• Visual inspection of pieces before measuring, look for excess flashing, blocked holes, damage parts, anything that could cause a dimensional failure
• Fixture verification when applicable
• Visual inspections of tip/probes not damage
• Coordinate calibration/ maintenance activities, ensure that all test and measurement equipment is calibrated prior to use.
• Maintain 5S's in Dimensional areas such as CMM1 Nikon and Attribute Checking Fixture working areas, by using labeling system and keep workspace clean and organize
• Able to communicate daily tasks to Cyber metrology/ Accuracy team
• Make sure that all Metrology equipment is working efficiently 24/7 and that the whole metrology team has the proper equipment and time to achieve Cyber Control Plan

Requirements

• Fixture verification when applicable.

• Coordinate calibration activities, ensure that all test and measurement equipment is calibrated prior to use.
• Maintain 5S's in Metrology Lab, by using labeling system and keep workspace clean and organize.
• Able to communicate daily tasks to metrology team
• Support the development and lead the implementation of Metrology standards and best practices in all aspects of Dimensional inspection inside and outside the Metrology Lab
• Make sure that all Metrology equipment is working efficiently 24/7 and that the whole metrology team has the proper equipment and time to achieve their work

Essential Physical Demands

• Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day
• Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours a day, including over varied and uneven terrain
• Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs
• Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach to install parts
• Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours a day
• Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures
• Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing
• Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: safety glasses, safety shoes, hard hat, arm protection, reflective vest, hand protection and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
