MI Coalition Against Homelessness - NOAH/Detroit

NOAH at Central is seeking one Full-time AmeriCorps Member to serve as an Outreach Specialists from September 30th, 2024 through September 26th, 2025. Noah at Central serves as a central hub for services, resources, and relationships as we journey alongside individuals on the path to stable housing. When acceptance is combined with compassion and honesty, it builds trust. By creating an environment founded on trusting relationships, we develop a family for people so they have the support necessary to change and grow. Service benefits include a $21,000 living stipend (pre-tax, distributed bi-weekly) and a $7,395 Segal Education Award. Member Duties : Practice radical acceptance that builds trusting relationships Treat all clients, volunteers, staff, and partners with respect and dignity Strive for diversity, equity, and inclusion Meet with clients one on one to build relationships, help identify and address clients' needs, and create an environment that fosters positive life change. Input client data, services, and notes accurately into the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) and make corrections as needed. Work closely with the Community Center Manager, other project staff, volunteers, interns and others as a supportive team to enhance coordination of care. Attend any training as needed. Assist with bag lunch preparation and serving of bag lunch as needed. Build connections with and referrals to local service agencies and assist in updating the referral resources. Assist with other duties assigned that fulfill the mission of Noah at Central.
