Description
Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals as well as other medications to patients and performs the diagnostic study per physician orders.
Reports to: Director Diagnostic Services and Imaging Supervisor
Administers radiopharmaceuticals and medications for patient imaging and therapeutic procedures.

Provides images, data analysis and patient information for diagnostic interpretation or therapeutic procedures.

Evaluates images to determine the technical quality and calibration of instrumentation.

Follows radiation safety procedures

Communicates patient information relative to procedure purpose, description and duration prior to beginning examination. Follows up on patient's questions in a timely manner,
Qualifications
Minimum Education
Certificate, Associates or Bachelor's degree in health related field required by certifying body.

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Certifications:
BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) - Required to be obtained within 90 days of employment, if not current upon hire.
ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) - Required within 6 months of employment, if not current upon hire

Licenses:
Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (NM) or certified with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB). New graduates who are registry eligible are welcome and must acquire valid registration within 12 months of hire date.
