Job Description
Under the direction of the Network Director of Nursing Education, the Clinical Educator has responsibility for education of all nursing staff and is responsible for assessing and implementing the educational needs of multidisciplinary staff. Responsible for conducting accurate, timely and documented 1:1's with new orientees and Preceptors. Planning for and implementing appropriate learning activities to produce identified educational outcomes and evaluate the effectiveness of staff learning. Support the Department of Nursing Education to ensure that educational needs of all staff.
Minimum Qualifications
1. A valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State; and
2. Holds, or obtains through facility orientation, a valid and current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA); and
3. A Master's Degree in Nursing, or a related nursing or education field, from an accredited college or university; and
4. Three (3) years of experience as a registered nurse in specialty area(s), including:
a. One (1) year providing nursing education and training in specialty area(s); or
b. Holds a valid and current certification as a Nurse Educator.
For Assignment to Nurse Educator Level II
1. In addition to meeting the qualification requirements of Nurse Educator Level I, must be assigned to a highly specialized area (e.g., critical care, emergency services, perioperative care) or to a group of specialty areas.

Job Description

- Responsible for supporting the Head Nurse in all Educational related performance improvement. Provides guidance and serves as a resource to the service for quality outcomes
- Will lead PI and research related efforts for nurses in the service
- Identify learning needs of staff utilizing formal processes to include staff input
