Job Purpose
Provides advanced nursing care to patients in a clinical setting in an area of specialization under the direction of a physician.
Job Duties
- Synthesizes and critically analyzes data to identify needs, formulate diagnosis, and establish a treatment plan for a patient, family, and/or population.
- Implements individualized, evidence-based interventions based on assessment, treatment plan, and identified prioritizes to maximize health potential and/or expected goals of a patient, family, and/or population.
- Evaluates progress toward expected goals of a patient, family, and/or population in a systematic and ongoing manner with modification to the plan as appropriate.
- Serves as a clinical expert to the interdisciplinary team.
- Incorporates and disseminates research findings and evidence-based practice into treatment plans, protocols, and guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education Required: Master's degree in in Nursing.
- Experience Required: 2 to 5 years of medical experience.
- Certification/Licenses/Registration: Current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the State of Texas Board of Nursing. Current Texas Licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APRN-NP), and specialty certification as required by department. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Effective communication skills.
- Able to facilitate change.
