Under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager II, the Office Technician (Typing) performs various clerical duties for the Human Resources (HR) Office, Operations Branch. These duties include, receiving and distributing incoming/outgoing mail and maintaining confidential files to meet the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) records retention schedule. The Office Technician will be responsible for updating spreadsheets and Salesforce probationary reports and performance appraisal data, along with employee personal contact information.

The Office Technician (Typing) works 40 hours per week in a building with artificial light and temperature control. There is f ree parking. The incumbent will be in a stationary position for long periods of time. The incumbent in this position has frequent contact with DIR staff, representatives from other state agencies, and the public in person, by telephone, and/or email. Much of the work is of a sensitive and confidential nature.
