Outpatient Pharmacy Technician Sr - Specialty

JOB SUMMARY

Under direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, and following established policies and procedures, assist in the various activities of a pharmacy technician including the following: acting as a subject matter expert for prescription processing, claims adjudication, telephone support, and dispensing of medications and supplies. Other responsibilities of the senior technician include, assisting coordinators and supervisors with workflow management to ensure prescriptions are moving through the stages in a timely manner, and assist with documentation and maintenance of quality assurance measures. Responsible for performing assigned duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Qualifications

• Required 3 years experience as a certified pharmacy technician in a retail / specialty pharmacy setting, or pharmacy benefits manager system.
• Must maintain current registered in the State of Florida as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word / Excel / Outlook.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• In the absence of a current State of Florida, Board of Pharmacy issued permit as a Registration Pharmacy Technician, a current/active Pharmacy Intern permit, issued by State of Florida, Board of Pharmacy may be substituted.
