The Fralin Biomedical Research Institute is looking for a qualified intern to assist with managing the Institutes 3D printing and prototyping studio.

Responsibilities:
- Maintaining filament, consumables, and spare parts inventory
- Performing routine 3D printer maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting errors and issues
- Assist users with setting up and monitoring prints
- Update and create new signage and training material
- Learn CAD design software and assist users with using the software and help with the creation of new projects
- Learn how to use the studio's 3D scanner and train users on its operation

Other terms:
- Part-time, flexible work schedule, 5 to 10 hours per week, in the 3D printing studio.
- The position is for a twelve-month term.
- Work must be performed during operating hours, between 8 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday.

Required Qualifications

- Demonstrated organizational skills
- Strong writing and communication skills
- The ability to work independently
- Experience using Microsoft and Google applications

Preferred Qualifications

- Coursework or training in 3D printing, engineering, or design
- Demonstrated experience with organizing inventory
- Strong customer service skills
